Dorothy Mpyisi-Adebanjo is our esteemed Regional Ambassador for Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO) in Uganda! With an illustrious career spanning various continents, Dorothy brings a wealth of experience and expertise to our cause.

Dorothy currently serves as the Resource Mobilization Lead at Africans Rising, where her dedication and strategic acumen have been instrumental in driving impactful initiatives. Prior to this, she co-founded Social Innovation Africa (SIA), a transformative development organization committed to accelerating Africa’s progress through social innovation.

During her tenure at the Graça Machel Trust, Dorothy served as an International Consultant, managing a network across 17 countries and spearheading initiatives to advance women’s financial inclusion. Her leadership as the Country Chapter Director further solidified her commitment to promoting women’s economic empowerment, particularly in the realm of financial access and inclusion.

As an Independent Consultant specializing in international development, Dorothy has undertaken numerous projects focused on women’s leadership development, research, and organizational development. Her extensive experience includes executive leadership roles at the Women’s Resource Centre & Network, where she implemented groundbreaking strategies and raised significant funds to support key programs.

With over two decades of experience spanning various sectors and geographies, Dorothy Mpyisi-Adebanjo embodies the spirit of entrepreneurship and empowerment. Her tireless dedication and visionary leadership make her a true asset to the WEDO family as we continue to champion women’s entrepreneurship and inspire change across Uganda and beyond!
