WeDo AND LALELA PROJECT

Working together to empower young girls and women, fostering their creativity, confidence, and leadership skills

WEDO partners with the Lalela Project to create transformative change through educational arts programs for at-risk youth in South Africa, Northern Uganda, and the Bronx, NY.

Lalela Project
The Lalela Project is a nonprofit organization that provides educational arts programs to at-risk youth in Africa. Through a unique curriculum blending arts, music, and academic subjects, the Lalela Project aims to empower children and adolescents, offering them a platform for self-expression, creativity, and personal growth.
Lalela’s signature art curriculum, Heart Mapping, sparks creative thinking and awakens the entrepreneurial spirit in these students. This innovative approach helps students map and manifest their dreams and goals, creating new possibilities for themselves and their communities.
As part of this partnership, each Pioneer Award Winner receives a customized art piece created by an impoverished female student.
