Danielle James is an award-winning journalist, creative leader, and model based in New York City with over 15 years in the beauty and fashion industry. As the former Digital Beauty Director at Elle Magazine, Danielle is known for her innovative and inclusive storytelling featured in The Wall Street Journal, Vogue, Allure, and Business of Fashion. Her expertise as a fashion and beauty director, on-camera host, and consultant has allowed her to bridge brand strategy and compelling content, advocating for body inclusivity, women’s empowerment, and sustainability.

Beyond journalism, Danielle founded Model Citizen, a peer-to-peer platform supporting sustainable fashion. She has modeled at New York Fashion Week and internationally, working with brands like Bloomingdale’s and Fashion to Figure. As a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta and a founding member of NeueHouse, Danielle values community, and when she’s not working, she enjoys sailing, exploring Japanese whiskey, and volunteering with children in Harlem.
