Sue Wagner is a co-founder of BlackRock, where she served as Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer and sat on the Global Executive and Operating Committees. Over 25 years at the firm she led strategy and corporate development, including BlackRock’s mergers with PNC, Merrill Lynch Investment Managers and Barclays Global Investors, joint ventures in Japan, China and India, the firm’s IPO and the launch of BlackRock Solutions. She also co-founded and chaired BlackRock’s Women’s Initiative Network.

She has been named among Fortune’s “50 Most Powerful Women in Business” and honored by the National Council for Research on Women and the National Association of Corporate Directors. She graduated with honors from Wellesley College and earned an MBA in finance from the University of Chicago, which gave her its Distinguished Alumni Award.

She serves on the boards of Apple, BlackRock, Samsara and Color Health, and joined the board of Temasek in October 2026.
