WEDO CDA/Spokane joined forces with North Idaho College (NIC) to host over 350 women and students at Schuler Auditorium on November 30, 2018. The timing was fitting: NIC had just been named the 2018 Heather Sickle Entrepreneurial College of the Year by the National Association for Community College Entrepreneurship.
The impact was built to LAST. WEDO CDA/Spokane committed all of its proceeds to fund Entrepreneurship Education scholarships at NIC, and the two launched a Shark Tank style pitch competition giving local high school students coaching and mentorship for their business ideas, an exclusive three-year partnership that opened the door for community sponsors throughout. NIC students attended FREE with registration, removing cost as a barrier for the next generation of founders.
.From New York to North Idaho, the throughline is the same. When leaders grow, revenues grow, jobs are created, and lives are changed. In Coeur d’Alene, Spokane, and beyond, WEDO is proving that when women lead, entire communities rise.
Thank you to North Idaho College, lead ambassador Latisha Taylor, and every sponsor and speaker who made WEDO CDA/Spokane possible. WEDO is proud to stand alongside a community that understands investing in women is investing in a stronger, more prosperous future for all.
