Across the country, women entrepreneurs are running businesses from kitchens, storefronts, markets and home offices. They are resourceful, creative and determined. What many have lacked is access to the tools now reshaping how businesses start, sell and grow.

The Women’s Entrepreneurship Day Organization (WEDO) is changing that. Through its free AI Entrepreneurship Education Program, WEDO is bringing hands-on AI education to women across Mexico. The effort is led by Rosario Velasco, WEDO Chairwoman Mexico, and Paola Farias, WEDO LATAM AI Community Manager.

The goal is bold: equip 100,000 women in Mexico with the AI skills to grow their businesses, create new opportunities and lead the next era of entrepreneurship.

This is more than a technology course. It is an investment in women’s economic independence, in their ideas, and in their power to transform their families, communities and country.

A Movement That Started Without a Megaphone

Some programs launch with headlines. Mexico’s began with women finding the program and deciding it was for them.

More than 125 women across Mexico have already enrolled in WEDO’s AI Entrepreneurship Education Program, making Mexico one of the largest and fastest-growing communities in WEDO’s global AI education network.

These women aren’t just signing up. They are working through the program’s eight self-paced sessions around their businesses, families and schedules, and Mexico’s first graduates have already earned their WEDO AI certificates.

This is what happens when education is free, practical and accessible. Women find it. Women use it. Women finish it.

The Goal: 100,000 Women Ready to Lead in AI

AI is changing how businesses are launched, marketed, managed and scaled. For women entrepreneurs, knowing how to use it can mean more time, better decisions, new customers and new ideas.

Access to technology alone isn’t enough, though. Women also need training, confidence and a clear path from learning to doing. That’s why WEDO has set out to reach 100,000 women in Mexico with free, practical AI education.

The program shows women how AI can help them:

  • Turn ideas into businesses: research markets, test product ideas, and build business plans.
  • Market and sell with confidence: create content, reach new customers, and design marketing strategies.
  • Work smarter every day: automate routine tasks, organize operations, and win back hours each week.
  • Take control of their finances: build budgets, track expenses, and price products and services with confidence.
  • Serve customers better: write customer communications, respond faster, and keep client relationships organized.
  • Stay ahead of change: adapt to shifting markets, try new ideas, and find room to grow.

The aim is simple: AI education that is free, hands-on and built around the real, everyday needs of women entrepreneurs.

Meet Rosario Velasco: A Lifetime of Building Bridges

Some leaders build organizations. Rosario Velasco builds communities, and she has been doing it for decades.

As WEDO Chairwoman Mexico, Rosario is one of the most respected figures in entrepreneurship and community leadership in Mexico State. She is the Founder and former President of Ciudades Hermanas de Toluca, which connects Toluca with sister cities around the world through cultural, economic and educational exchange. She is also the Founder of Liderato®, an initiative that develops the next generation of leaders through mentorship and skill-building.

Rosario serves as Vice-Chairwoman of the Council Board of the Alianza Franco Mexicana de Toluca, where she champions cross-cultural dialogue and sustainable partnerships. She previously served as Coordinator of the Red Cross in Mexico State, a role that reflects a lifelong commitment to serving people when they need it most.

Her days are spent doing what she has always done: opening doors. She connects women with mentors, institutions with communities, and Mexico with the world. That network and credibility are what make it possible for WEDO’s AI program to reach women across Mexico, and what will carry it to 100,000.

WEDO is deeply grateful for Rosario’s vision, her tireless advocacy and the many doors she has opened for others. Her leadership has brought the program credibility, reach and heart in Mexico, and she shows every day what it means to lead by lifting others up. WEDO is proud to have her as our Chairwoman Mexico.

“I have spent my life building bridges between people, cities and cultures. AI is the next bridge, and I want every woman in Mexico to cross it. 100,000 women is not a dream. It is our plan.”

— Rosario Velasco, WEDO Chairwoman Mexico, Founder of Ciudades Hermanas de Toluca and Liderato®

Meet Paola Farias: The Heart of the Community

If Rosario opens the doors, Paola Farias makes sure every woman who walks through them feels welcome, supported and ready to succeed.

As WEDO LATAM AI Community Manager, Paola is the everyday connection between the program and the women it serves across Mexico and Latin America. Her days are spent inviting new participants, guiding them through their first sessions, answering questions, celebrating every milestone and encouraging women to keep going until they earn their certificates.

It is patient, personal and often invisible work, and it is the reason women don’t just enroll but finish. Every certificate earned in Mexico carries a piece of Paola’s dedication.

WEDO is deeply thankful for Paola’s endless messages, patient guidance, late-night encouragement and celebrations at every finish line. She has turned a program into a community and strangers into a sisterhood, and every woman in Mexico who has earned her certificate has done it with Paola cheering her on.

“Every day, I see a woman who thought AI wasn’t for her discover that it absolutely is. That moment never gets old. My job is to make sure no woman walks this path alone.”

— Paola Farias, WEDO LATAM AI Community Manager

Mexico: Where Learning Becomes Business Growth

Mexico shows what WEDO’s AI Entrepreneurship Education Program can become when women take ownership of it.

Participants are learning to bring AI into their daily work, whether that’s writing social media posts for a small bakery, drafting a business plan for a new venture, or organizing costs and pricing for a growing service business.

What makes the program powerful isn’t the technology itself. It’s the moment a woman realizes that a tool she thought was “not for her” can save her hours, bring her new customers, or help her launch the idea she has been carrying for years.

Why AI Education for Women Matters in Mexico

Women entrepreneurs are a driving force in Mexico’s economy, building businesses that employ neighbors, support families and anchor communities.

As AI reshapes global markets, the entrepreneurs who know how to use it will move faster and reach further. Making sure women have that knowledge isn’t only fair. It’s essential to Mexico’s economic future.

Practical AI education also helps women use these tools wisely: knowing when AI helps, understanding its limits, and keeping human judgment, creativity and experience at the center of their businesses.

The goal is not to replace what women bring to their businesses. It’s to multiply it.

From Mexico to the World: One Mission, 100,000 Mexican Women

Through Rosario’s leadership, Paola’s dedication and a community that grew on its own momentum, Mexico is proving that when opportunity is open to women, they don’t hesitate. They lead.

100,000 women. One global mission. A future built by the women of Mexico.

The AI revolution has already begun. WEDO is making sure the women of Mexico don’t just take part in it. They help lead it.

Because the future of Mexican entrepreneurship shouldn’t just happen to women.

It should be built by women, led by women and open to every woman ready to shape it.
